Warning - yes, this is a blog about how I spent my Valentine's day with my boyfriend, Carl. It is my first Valentine's day with a guy! I deserve to be happy about it. So please don't be mad!
I began preparing for the actually day just a day before when I made cookie dough! I revised the recipe - switched nutmeg to cinnamon so it would not kill Carl. Saved his life again! And then I cleaned the house a bit. Now, jumping to the morning of Valentine's day, I rolled the dough, baked, and decorated the cookies. Red, pink, and white frosting all hand decorated so they were like snowflakes - all individual. Then I cleaned some more and got myself ready. Then I did the last stage of making spaghetti! I had also planned the dessert weeks before - sundaes, because Carl had his first one with me. Isn't that ridiculous? He is like 16 and never had a proper sundae before! Que terrible!
When he finally got here, he was so surprised! And quite happy! He ate it all, I was impressed. I had made a lot...bad measuring skills. But it worked so yay! And I set the cookies up all cute - most in a mug I bought him and the others around it. It was a work of art! I hope he enjoyed it, he seemed to. (He has actually consumed them all now! Yay!)
After lunch we exchanged gifts. I had bought him an aeropastle sweater! Navy blue and green stripes, I liked it a lot. I even tried it on in the store...not sure why. I should have taken a picture! It looked good on me, right Catey? Anyway, Carl liked it. I am enhancing his fashion! He got me a really cool, pink, swirly scarf! My new favorite scarf. Very cool and warm. Doesn't make my hair too frizzy. And a set of pearls - necklace, bracelet (which actually fits my wrist!!!), and earrings. Love them, I never had a real set of pearls!
Next we hung out with/ chased around our friends. Silly couples. They played a bit of a trick on us and made up a riddle. We had to go on a hunt to find them. We would call them and they would just repeat "We were eating...and now we are reading." They turned out to be at the library...how weird are they?!
Soon after we left our silly couple friends and went to Shaboygan. We drove around and Carl showed me all these places in Shaboygan. It is actually a pretty cool town. Then we went to this coffee place, the Weather Center, down by the lake. It is such a cool, artsy, cultural, fisherman-esk place. Plus it had coffee! And the waiters were all cool, artsy, rebel people with cool clothes. Very indie. Then we went out to dinner and talked a lot. Finally he drove me home. Happy Valentine's Day!
I know Valentine's Day over all has been completely commercial, but I really liked it. It was a good day! Apart form me making a meal and cookies, it was just like any other date. Though maybe there was more driving around involved. But all the same, it was awesome! So yes. Fin

Catching Up
So, it has been over a month since I have blogged. I am truly sorry for this- it makes me extremely sad. The same goes for my novel...wow I must get my priorities in order! This is madness! More writing, writing, writing.
So since we last spoke...what all has happened?
Second Semester
Wow this was forever ago! I have adjusted well...though my old schedule fit me better. But my easy classes in the morning are going well. Gives me time to wake up. I start of my day with good old Commercial Art (graphic design) with Dani! Tis good fun, if not time wasting. Then choir before lunch, gives me time to work. Oh that class makes me sad...we should be better. But we are not..sad. Oh but I made Oratorio choir for next year! YES! Moving on up! It at least should be a bit better...you would think. Then Biology, which is much more fun this semester! Cotter has lighten our load and I am doing very well. I actually understand things and I help other people understand, a real confidence boaster. I feel so smart! And the people are more fun too! Finally I end with English, which is going okay...I am doing well of course. Wish there was more writing though. And I got Carl in that class, so all good fun. Then B day I start off with Worship -which is better then I thought it would be. I have it with Carly and Kari, they distract me. We joke around so much! We are the trouble makers...fun fun! Spanish es muy divirtido! Yoli, Bea, y Juan Pablo ole! Y Brennan and Seraki...I am more buddy with the jock guys lately...weird. More and more I am hearing "Brucey!". Honors Geo...eh meep. At least I have my friends - Tiff, Em, Jo and Bri! Then American History...ick. That has fallen to worst class I think.
Mock Trial
We went to regional, we sucked. Well we actually did much better then I expected with so many people dropping out! And I didn't mess up on any of my reading. But when it came to cross...well I could have done better. But it wasn't as bad as I thought. But our team came in last...sad. But at least we did not have to go to State..that would have been bad. So...yeah not doing that again.
Snowball
The winter dance. Much fun! My friends all hung out before - played some games, watched some dance crews, bumper couples, all that jazz. Then we went to Applebee's and pretended it was someone's birthday without them knowing. The waiters all came out and sung to him, he was so embarrassed! I also messed with the waiter, Scott. Good fun. Then the dance was coolie. Because of my friends and Carl. Not the songs, we need better songs. Oh, thanks Cat for letting me wear your clothes! Skinny jeans rock, must buy some!
Do Patin Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?
No. They don't. I tired out for play a while ago. I sang Popular from Wicked, was a bit shaky there. But I did okay, Jake said I aced it! And I thought my acting was really good....but I did not make the cut. But that is okay, I mean there were only 12 parts. And then there is another show being put on with another small cast. The Fantastics, which Carl made. He is the part Henry, which is just speaking, no singing. But he tells me it is quite enjoyable and I look forward to seeing him in it. There are a bit too many freshmen in it if you ask me...but whatever. They are good actors...I guess...maybe. Anyway, I'm a bit sad I did not make it. But as my senior friends tell me, I should shut up and get over it. Good advice you guys!
V-day
Oh this deserves it's own blog! I will write that soon. Probably later today!
Kitty kitty!
We got a new cat, as my sister has posted. Aries - god of war...not that violent. But silly and cewt! (cute)! He is a great addition to the family. Birthday is April 1st in honor of Fred Weasley, whom I will always love (sorry Carl) haha.
Seems to be it. See you in the next blog!

Finals are Finally Fin!
Here upon my second year of high school, my first semester finals are finally fin and over with! Rejoice and be glad! I am so relieved to have them good and done! And I believe I did them very well! Well Honors Geometry might not have been the best, but I pray I did better then I thought. At this point, I am getting straight As! And I do not appreciate the Schadenfreude of "straight A students getting B's" right now. I have worked really hard to get those As. I want to keep them! I don't think I got a grade on any of my finals to change them though.
I am so happy I don't have to deal with the stress of them anymore! Maybe now I will finally have some worry-free, stress-free free time! I actually have two sticky notes on my wall entitled "Things To Do After Finals". That is just not right. But to be fair finals did go on forever because we got the weekend with it. I had big plans for last weekend and was so robbed. But now that the final doors are closed, I can forget about plans! No more! Freedom!
Well not entirely. I have to get back to my novel. I'm at 60800 now! I am doing well, just have to throw myself into it. It is getting good! I'm up in 100s in pages now. So cool! I think this one is going to go somewhere. And with my helpful friends pushing me to reaching the end by February, I should get there. Hopefully.
And second semester will start tomorrow. I am a bit nervous for my new schedule. It basically flipped over from last semester. Now I start of with my easy classes and end with hard. I personally prefer what I have now. But I will adjust and adapt. And only two of my classes changed and I have no new teachers. That is pretty good. And so begins a new 8-3, 5 day life for me!

Book Review - The Memory Book
At last, I have returned to the reading world! I had a down point where I was hardly reading any books...that was a sad time. But just last week I checked out two random books from the library and the first was The Memory Book by Penelope J. Strokes.
This book is about a woman name Phoebe, who seems to have it all. She has just graduated law school, is engaged to a wonderful man, and has two life long best friends. But Phoebe has a secret past she has hidden from them, a past she returns to when she goes back to her grandmother's house she grew up in. Then she finds a memory book filled with pictures, letters, comments, and a death certificate bearing her own name. Phoebe discovers the memory book of a great aunt she never knew, who not only shares her name, but seems to have a parallel life style from the 1920s. When she finds her great aunts diary, Phoebe cannot ignore her feeling that all the answers she is looking for lies in the past. And then without warning she finds herself in the 1920s and playing the role of the first Phoebe. On this journey Phoebe desperately searches to find answers and perhaps change history.
This book is not the ordinary time traveling tale. It is filled with hidden terrors and secrets that never stop adding twists to the story. I loved each page and really identified with the story and Phoebe's troubles. This book is also the magic size of 5 by 7 inches. When I publish my won books, I want to make them that size. I was drawn to if as soon as I saw it and it did not disappoint. I highly recommend it to anyone. This book also teaches the valuable lesson that honesty is key weather it is with friends, family, yourself, or the higher power above us all. It also teaches that some things are just uncontrollable and cannot changed. We all must accept that and live on.
This book really made me step back and look at my own life. Sure I have secrets and boundaries. But I never thought about how that effected the world around me. There comes a point where you just have to be honest with yourself and see nothing is perfect and it never will be. I'll keep my secrets, but I won't shut people out to cover them up. I've decided it's time for some self-cleansing. Maybe a few changes to my self would do me good. Let's see if they work!

Venturing into 2009
I know it has been a while...and I am truly sorry. I should have gotten back to you and gave you a whole knew out look on life based upon some new finding or hope coming with the new year. But i am a firm believer in that your life can change at any time at all. New hope can spring up at any moment and you never know when it is coming. Why should it take a start of new set of numbers, a falling of a ball in Time's square, or a night that is just and excuse to stay up late? And also, whose idea was it to have the new year happen in the midst of winter? I am not saying the new year means nothing, I just think it does not mean all we give it credit for.
My new year's eve and beginning of the new year was spent playing rock band and hanging out in an outdoor hot tub at 104 degrees. And when it reached that magic hour of midnight and the official start of the new year, my friends and I view a free display of illegal fireworks from across the river. I will say this for New Years, it is an excuse to party, so it is fine by me. And if some people start anew due to it, that is all well and good too. People can do as they please, there is no stopping them. I might sound like a hypocrite because I did just post my new year resolutions, but I all ready had made plans to do all that. I would have done them anyway...
Moving along, my days lately have been hard. This was my finals week and it has been taking it's tole on me. But then today, on the day of my fist set of finals, school was canceled. Due to the cold. Who would have figured that? Well life goes on. Finals have me worried, next semester has me worried, all is just troublesome to me. But that is life, I suppose. We all have to live with it and within it.
So some updates...
My boyfriend finally gave me my Christmas gifts. He gave me my own hat, very soft and purple. And a necklace -- a gold heart with genuine ruby and diamond accents. Yay! I adore them, he has good taste. And is apparently reading this now. Cool! Now I have four viewers!
My nano novel is at a grand count of 57, 100 and is coming around. I had been on a bit of a writers block, but I am fighting it. Hopefully I can make it through. It gets better every day.
I also will be trying to make writing a priority. Hopefully my world gets to shine a bit more often and I make time to do what I love.
And I have a laptop now! Now I will be on the computer for half of my life! YES!

Windows of Winter
So world that I rein over, how have you been? Not very busy I see, but nor have I. There is much to be said and some I don't wish to write. But as of late I have been having a horrid time trying to get words to flow out from me. My neglected nano stands as proof of that. But, for the sake of this world, I'll try.
Let's start of with the worst of it. My parents were in a car crash and the blame was really owed to the snow. That time was the scariest in my life. I had so much doubt and I had more fears then I ever had before. But, thankfully, both of my parents are fine now. Well not fine just yet, but on their way. They are both home and working again. And that is all that matters. Because of that accident, my family's trip to New York was canceled.
But even with our canceled trip, winter break started off early with the second snow day of the year. On which Catey and I got stuck in the snow twice along with Kory and Dani on the second time. It was quite fun after a while. Some random guys pushed us out the first time. Cheers to them, they did a good deed. And the second time we had a shovel ready. And so winter break began. A short while later my friends and I exchanged our secret santa gifts. I received a bracelet and chocolates. After many canceled plans, I finally got to see my out of town boyfriend to give him my Christmas gift (he ordered mine in the mail and it has not arrived yet...stupid mail). I gave him a lanyard for his new keys to his new car, a hat (which is apparently a tradition now), two mixed Cd's for his musical education, and some cologne (best smell on earth). I did well if I do say so myself!
My Christmas was...not the best. But it went as well as to be expected. Catey and I picked out some movies for ourselves and were surprised with our traditional jewelry from our parents. I got a beautiful garnet necklace. And I surprised everyone with gifts I had bought for them (Thank you Emmy). I think they all enjoyed them. Then we watched movies, a very merry Christmas for us.
And now here I am on the eve of New Years Eve. I have a party to go to today, but nothing planned for the actual New Year's. Odd...I hope that changes. I am on the very threshold of 2009 and all I can think about is all that I should have done by now. I had plans for this break - my nano, drarry, math project, my painting - and most are left hardly touched. I find I am more worried about the end of winter break then the end of 2008. I'm always a bit late in realizing the coming of a new year. So it's best to state my resolutions now...
-First off, finish my nano by February. This seems unattainable at this point, but so did nano!
-Second, blog and journal more often. Journal at least once a week. Blog maybe once every 2 weeks. Keep the writing going, I want a career out of this.
-Third, hang out with friends who will actually be here next year, but still stay tight with the seniors (especially the ones who read this!)
-Forth quit smoking and drinking...oh wait I haven't even started! Sweet! One down! Haha
-Fifth keep in shape
ensemble.
And there you are! Hopefully I will actually attain some of these goals! Wish me luck!

Reflexions On Nanowrimo
Good morning my world!
So now it comes down to the talk on national writers month. Amazing, my first time trying it, I made the 50,000 word quota! I find this a huge acomplishment! There were so many times when I thought my goal was unattainable, but here I am now a winner! There is no greater feeling (that may be a bit of an exaggeration)!
Unfortunetly I did not beat my friend Dani, but she was extemely deicated and desevered to win. I tie with my friend Alyssa, because I met the 50,000 words first and she had them all typed first. We both agreed on second place. A good compromise, I think.
Yet look at me noe. Here I am in December and my story is nowhere near finished. And I am having the hardest time getting back to it. There seems to be not enough hours in the day. But that is not possible because of the amazing quota I reached last month. I have to get back into my writing mode! My dear writing pal Alyssa gave me the advice to read through my stroy completely, edit, and then begin writing again. I have decided to take it. At the moment I am at a crucial point in the story and must make it perfect!Wish me luck! My characters thank you!
