Well...They're Definitely Not Bringing Home A Fish

On the 25th of September was Carl and my anniversary. And though it has been much time since the day, I must write a blog about.

It began after school on Friday, the 25th. I told Carl I was going to take him somewhere. So We had to go through the switching cars thing. So he ended up driving because I was going to stay in Sheboygan that night and we'd come home the next day for homecoming. And I had to give him some crazy back road directions so he would not see we were going to...PETCO! Before we entered Petco I gave him a box to open. Inside was a fishbowl, beta food, decorative rocks and bowl cleaner, and a decorative skull and crossbones. Then we went inside and Carl decided on a male crowntail beta. He was a pretty mix of blue shades. Then we began the slow process of getting to the car and to Sheboygan. I did not foresee the difficulty of moving a fish. Turns are the worst on the water. And stopping is bad too. But I held onto the fish as Carl drove very carefully. Many cars sped pasted us and I interjected that they were definitely not bring home a fish. And we had to go on this one road with a lot of potholes. That was fun. But we eventually got to Carl's house and after washing the bowl three times very thoroughly, we put the fish in the bowl. Then Carl dubbed him Mobadiah.

Next we went to take my stuff out of his car. Where I showed him the poster I made of our first year. It had a lot of our pictures form the last year and a bunch of inside jokes. It had some exerts from my journal a lot, my inner most thought haha. It had a mug root beer can on it, remember the day he asked me out and gave me one. We both still have the cans. It also had Pluto and Chiron because of our song, I'm Your Moon. It had the Beatles love album, for our shared love of the Beatles. A saxophone with the word logical in music notes for the Logical song about his life. And some quotes from the poem I wrote about him. It was very cute. He was speechless at first. He loved it.

Then we went upstairs and he open the rest of the gifts I bought him. (This is where I start to think I went a bit overboard) He firsts opens the hat, a grey pin striped one. Very classy. then he opened the watch. It's brown, which is his favorite color, and is analogue and digital. Just what he wanted. Then the Beatles shirt, which he freaked out about. Finally he opened the painting of the dragon around the sun. He said it was amazing! Hurray!

Then he blindfolded me and made me walk down the stairs. Dangerous? I thought so. Then he left me alone and went to get my gift. I took off the blindfold when he returned and before me was a beautiful painting by Carl himself. It was of a ram and a hummingbird, which is what Carl and I in animalogy. The ram was crying and the tear in the shape of a man. And peeking out from behind the ram's nose was a woman. The hummingbird set off a ray of a sunset and all these beautiful colors. There was a heart on the ram's nose and white drifted down to the bottom to encircle a man and a woman who were holding hands. (see facebook soon for uploaded picture). Then Carl explains that before we started dating, he dreamt in black and white. But when we began, he started dreaming in color. And the painting was the first image he saw in color. I loved it. I have it in my room where I can see it right before I turn off my lights to sleep.

Next we went to dinner at Il Ritrovo, this amazing, classy pizza place. We got a bruchetta appetizer, a mushroom pizza with the thinnest and best crust I ever had, and split a tiramasu for dessert! It was so delicious! Then we went to a candy store next door and I got a white chocolate covered Oreo with sprinkles, which was like a heaven cookie sandwich covered in white chocolate. Carl and I then went off to the movies to see Surrogates. That was a great movie. Watch it sometime. Finally we ended the night and went to bed. It was an interesting experience sleeping at the Waldharts. One person was awake at all times, I think.

Then in the morning Carl took me out to breakfast at Harry's Diner, where I ate a delicious crepe that made my day! And Carl asked me to homecoming because he realized he forgot to do his plan. He was going to tell the waitress to bring a card out the night before with our dessert. But forgot. Oh well. Then we picked up my corsage and I picked out his tie for homecoming and we were off to Manitowoc for the game and homecoming!

On to the next!

Uh...Maybe Next Dance

So...Timewarp!
Back to Homecoming Time!

Homecoming week was rather uneventfully. In fact, it was quite half assed. No one was excited! at all! Sad week. But I dressed up each day. Monday was Jersey day (why?) so I bought one at Goodwill from the kids section. It was red and while and had the number 7 on it. And since it was a kids, it actually fit. So I may wear it again. For funsies. Tuesday was western day...why? And I wore my plaid shirt and a bandanna round my neck. Wo freaking hoo. Wednesday was liturgy so I wore my pretty dress! Then Thursday was twin day, where me and Emmy wore yellow basketball shorts and matching ts. I straightened my hair and got many complements. But it takes so long and I like my hair curly. What the heck people? Um...then Friday was color day. I used Catey's old green accessories and Goodwill green leggings and green short shorts. Then they had the nerve to put me in a basketball game. Where I was the shortest person and had to go first...stupid people. I made one basket and then snuck out so I could sit by Kari who did not get her first basket. Then we almost won because we had Ben, but then Mr. Jahnke was a jerk and stood in front on Ben and would not let him shoot. Then we slammed pies are the teachers, where some freshman almost broke Senora's nose. And juniors lost to the seniors by 3 points. Because of Chief.

After school Carl and I celebrated our anaversary! See next blog!

Saturday was the football game. When basically every other sport had a game, so no one was there. And those who were were not cheering or enthusiastic. Carl in fact slept through the second half. We played the best school in the conference. We lost. Badly.

And off Carl and I went to get some coffee and then get ready. Where I did my annual "what to do with my hair" freak out. In the end I just wore it down. Like I knew I would. And then we went to Emmy's! Where Emmy's mom said Carl had to stay downstairs while I went to get ready with Sammy and Emmy. Haha. Sarah picked us all up shortly after. She said she loved my dress and then gave us all cookies. Then we drove to Tom's. Where we all congregated and complemented each other and took on the difficult task of placing on boutonnieres. Next we went outside and took pictures by the lake! I must admit it was a good background (I should really post those pictures) Jared looked a bit out of place because he never was able to go to his house and get formal wear. So he was in jeans and his rocker blazer jacket. It was pretty cool.

Then we split into three cars. Car one (the party car) consisted of Spencer (driver), Emmy, Sammy, and Joleen. Car two was Jared and Sarah who planned to park Jared's car at a park and ride and then join car one. Car three was Tom (driver), Clair, Carl, and I. Fuu-uhn. Tom lead the way to the highway because no one knew their way around the strange land of the town of TR. Then our car gets on to the highway. But the other car does not follow. The one who knows how to get to Green Bay. So Tom freaks out. I call up everyone in the car and Sarah is the only one who eventually answers. Tom forgot about the park and ride stop for Jared and Sarah to join the party car. Car three at this point is miles ahead of car one. So Tom decides to go 55 mph on the interstate till the other car catches up to us. We got many a strange looks. The funny thing was Tom would not even pull over on the rest stop because that would "take too long". Right and going 55 mph doesn't? Well eventually Spencer's car catches up and gets in the lead. Now everything goes well and we get to Olive Garden!

Olive Garden was packed with high schoolers. Green Bay was having homecoming that night too, so everyone was in formal wear, other than Jare Bear. There were only teenagers there, I swear. The food was amazing, as always. Sammy and I spilt the five cheese baked ziti and turned it into a six cheese by adding Parmesan! Our waiter's name was Shaun and I took a picture with him! then all the girls went to the bathroom together and took a secret picture in the bathroom when all the other ladies left. Yeah, we're weird. But we came back to the table giggling like crazy and the guys were all suspicious. It was fun.

Then we departed to our separate cars. Spencer got a lucky spot in the front, but Tom and us had to park in the way back. So we split and Joleen joins our car to be with Clair a bit. Tom pulls around front, only to see no Spencer. And we do not know how to get out of Green Bay. I say the general go on the main street and turn on 41. Then Claire announces she knows where to go and Tom follows her directions. We end up by Lambo Field and Tom decides we must not be in the right place. We call up the other car and turn around and go on S41. And we drive. We start talking about 90s nickelodeon cartoons and singing their theme songs. Then we remember Reading Rainbow and start singing that. Suddenly Tom says he fells we are not in the right place. Claire says we have to be because we did not go over the bridge yet. So we drive. Then Tom continues to feel we are going the wrong way and says he thinks he saw a Appleton sign. So he calls his parents. At this point we are in Kakuana. And as Tom explains our situation we miss all the major exits and have to find this back route was to 10. But we got to it eventually I guess. but the other car had already made it to the dance it it was already after 9:30. So we drive and drive. Everyone in the car is fine with not getting to homecoming but me. I was quite sad. But oh well.

We get there for 20 mins of the dance. Not very exciting.

Then we all relocate to Emmy's for a bonfire. We switch into casual wear and retell the getting lost story and learn what we missed at the dance. Nathaniel tired to put a video screen on the ceiling and got yelled at for not getting permission. He also never played a full song. And the kids got yelled at for moshing. As in they stopped the music and Mr. Waak threaten to stop the dance. Now Mr. Waak is threatening to quit student government because of Nathaniel. Good times yes?

Happy Homecoming
